Call me an idealist, but I believe that workers & the public are much safer when the right asbestos training is delivered.
Asbestos can be found in so many places. If you don't know it is there, it can be disturbed - either accidentally or through negligence.
I specialise in asbestos training for:
trades
asbestos removal
anyone working around tradies and asbestos removal
project and facilities managers
A training sessions doesn't need to be complex, it just needs to be relevant to the work you are doing.

At a MINIMUM, asbestos training needs to cover
Identification: How to identify different forms and types of asbestos and asbestos-containing materials (ACM) - this content will vary depending on which course you opt for, but it is always *visual*.
Health risks: Asbestos can kill anyone who breathes it - I will make sure you understand the risk so you keep yourself and others safe.
Safe handling and controls: Understanding good practice for safely handling asbestos, suitable control measures to use, and how to minimise the spread of fibres - I will ensure this is tailored to the work you do.
PPE and RPE usage: It might be the least effective of all control measures, but you are glad you have it when you need it!
Health monitoring: What?! I'll make sure you understand the importance of, and requirements for, ongoing health and exposure monitoring.

Same.... You can tell me something 100 times, but until you let me actually do it, it just doesn't sink in properly.
We can't always avoid theory, but as soon as there is an opportunity to get hands on, that's what we'll be doing.
For asbestos removal courses, practical is part of the assessment requirements. Whoop! For asbestos related work, we absolutely can set up practical training scenarios.
Tell me what tasks you will be carrying out and I'll make the lesson come to life.
Enfys is me, Alannah. I joined the asbestos industry in 2012 and somewhere along the way, I accidentally made asbestos my whole personality. While Enfys is a new venture, my experience has grown over the years before Enfys was dreamed up. I have a solid track record for sharing my passion and knowledge for all things asbestos.
Nothing brings me more professional satisfaction than helping someone "get it". Whether you are new to asbestos, know a little, or been in the game forever, there is always something new to learn.
